Why I Had to Break Up With My 30 Year Old Dentist? #BEDA

So last month I went to the dentist for a checkup.  I have been having tooth pain which I was in denial about.  Why you ask?  First!  I hate the dentist.  Secondly, I didn’t want to spend any more money on dental work.  Anyway I showed up to my new dentist who was highly recommended online.  I walked in the office to see this little boy.

Ok let me stop being disrespectful, he was a grown man but he was super young. And yes I’ll admit he was also very good looking. The women in the office were practically swooning.  Then it clicked to me.  I wonder if most of those amazing reviews online were from these women?  Dammit!

So he wasn’t actually that young, he was 30 years old.  I am in my late twenties so…I felt uncomfortable.  Why you ask?  First!  He’s just a little bit older than me.  Secondly, I don’t trust young people who have their life together.  It’s not normal ok.

This caught me off guard but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.  Alright, no I didn’t.  I just didn’t want to be rude and ask for his driver’s license.

Strike 1- he read my x-rays upside down.  (Ok it can happen to the best of us)
Strike 2- he splashed water all over my face.  (Ok he has shaky hands or nah?)
Strike 3- he didn’t even mention the tooth that was hurting me and told me everything looked fine with it.  (Ok so why am I in pain?)

So after changing my dental insurance I had to get a new dentist regardless.  After going on Google and researching “50 year old dentists that have being working in the field since the dawn of time,” I found one.

OFCOURSE he found that I had an infection in my root canal and that’s where the pain was coming from.  So I’m pretty sure I didn’t develop it within 2 weeks sicne my last dental checkup.  I’m not saying that age was a factor of the misdiagnosis. Actually the dentist who did the original root canal jacked me up and he was like 65…but still.

Ok I just wanted to share this for no real reason.  I’m just terrified because I have to have dental surgery and I’m scared as heck!

As always thank you for reading.
Forever yours, Dionne

  3. I always thought that gingivitis was one of the worst forms of gum disease. I guess there are a lot worse things out there. I never realized how important flossing actually was until a couple of years ago.
